Department Profile

The department of Computer Science was established in year 1995 with introduction of B.Sc. Computer Applications. In 2001, one more undergraduate programme B.C.A was introduced. At present the department has 90 sanctioned seats in BCA and 60 sanctioned seats in B.Sc. computer application. The department has the state of art air conditioned EDUSAT hub, three air conditioned laboratories well equipped with adequate number of computer systems, Smart boards and high speed internet facility. The computer laboratories are efficiently managed by one laboratory assistant supported by three laboratory bearers.

 The department has experienced and highly qualified faculty with fifty percent having research degrees to their credit. The faculty members of the department also perform the different kinds of IT tasks in the institution. The faculty of the department continuously improves the teaching learning by using the latest ICT tools. The faculty also involves in research activities and publish research papers in the journals. The teaching faculty upgrades themselves by attending refresher courses, workshops and conferences.

The department aims at ingraining the spirit of ingenuity, innovativeness and technical competence in the students by regular guidance and software development. The department organizes guest lectures, seminars and workshops to expose the students to recent developments in the information technology. Department is committed to educate and encourage the students to meet the needs of industry and society.
